On average, we pick up our phones eighty times a day. We touch them, place them on our desks, keep them by our side – yet, most of us settle for mass-produced, soulless plastic cases. I, however, believed that our most personal everyday object deserves genuine value.
When I first stepped into the apprentice workshop more than 25 years ago, I didn't yet know that this passion would stay with me for a lifetime. Inlay (marquetry), the most noble branch of woodworking, taught me patience and precision: how to create lasting art from tiny pieces of wood veneer through manual fitting.
By bringing Marquetry World to life, my goal was to transition this traditional process into the modern digital world. Here, we don’t "print" the patterns, and our products are not made on an assembly line. Every single case is a unique story, where the accuracy of laser technology meets the delicacy of the human hand.
In this blog, I want to show you the world behind the scenes: the secrets of different wood species, the hours spent in the workshop, and the passion that makes every single piece silky to the touch and impossible to replicate.
Thank you for joining me on this journey where nature and technology meet.
